The Viera Hammers Wrestling Club (VHWC) is the home of the Viera High School boys and girls wrestling teams.
The Viera High School Wrestling Program is an interscholastic high school athletic team competing in the FHSAA (Florida High School Athletics Association) the governing body for high school sports in the State of Florida.
FHSAA Wrestling consists of four divisions based on school population (1A, 2A, 3A, and Girls) and is comprised of over 430+ high school wrestling programs throughout Florida, all competing each year for the State Championship. The Viera High School wrestling program competes in the 3A boys division and the Girls division, which are the two largest divisions in the state.
Over the past few years, the Viera Hawks Wrestling Teams have been consistently ranked among the top teams in the state.
During the 2024-2025 Wrestling Season, the Viera Hawks Wrestling Program saw success with both the Boys and the Girls Varsity Wrestling Teams winning back-to-back District Championship Titles (2024 & 2025). The boys wrestling team was also the back-to-back District Duals Champions (2024 & 2025), while the girls wrestling team was the back-to-back Cape Coast Conference Champions (2024 & 2025).
The Viera Hawks Wrestling Program also saw success at the State Championships, with the boys team finishing 26th in the state and the girls team finishing 6th in the state.
The Hawks wrestling team completed the season with 7 state qualifiers and 6 state place winners, including Viera High School's (and Brevard County’s) first ever girls State Champion.
The Viera Wrestling program also experienced accomplishments at the national level this past season with their first ever High School All-Americans. Out of 7 Viera Wrestlers competing at the National level, 2 members of the Viera girls wrestling team earned All-American Honors at the NHSCA Senior Nationals in Virginia Beach, VA (National High School Coaches Association).
In a field of over 64+ competitors in each division, from all around the country, the girls finished in the Top 8 in their respective weight divisions. In addition, one of our girls wrestlers earned National Ranking status becoming the #25 ranked 135lb female high school wrestler in the entire country.
Both All-Americans will be graduating from Viera High School and moving on to wrestle at the collegiate level in the NCAA.
To date, several members of the Viera Wrestling team have gone on to wrestle and compete at the collegiate level, including the NCAA, NAIA, and NCWA. Numerous Hawks have received multiple academic and athletic scholarships to compete at the next level.

All athletes and coaches participating in practice are required to have an active AAU Wrestling membership with a designation to the Viera Hammers Wrestling Club.

The Viera Hammers Wrestling Club (VHWC) is a youth wrestling program affiliated with AAU Wrestling (Amateur Athletic Union) and an official charter under USA Wrestling - the governing body of the U.S. Olympic Wrestling Team.
The mission of the Viera Hammers Wrestling Club is to promote and grow the great sport of wrestling throughout Brevard County and the state of Florida.
The Viera Hammers Wrestling Club is open to both boys and girls in Elementary, Middle, and High School (Grades K-12).
Collegiate Wrestlers, Coaches, and Alumni are encouraged to contact the coaching staff for alternative Practice and Clinician opportunities.
