Originally from Pennsylvania, Head Coach Jason Custer wrestled for Penn Cambria High School and at York College of Pennsylvania (NCAA - DIII).

While at York, Custer was a Team Captain, 4 Year Starter, 2x Conference Runner-Up & member of Teams ranked in the Top 25 in the country.

In 2021, Coach Custer took over as head coach of the Viera High School Wrestling Program. Under Custer’s tutelage the program has built a level of consistency, with both Boys and Girls Programs being ranked amongst the Top Teams in Florida.

In 2022, Custer started the Viera Hammers Wrestling Club (K-12), with the goal of creating an environment where all student-athletes will learn, grow and achieve success both on and off the mat. The club continues to grow organically throughout the Viera area with many Hammers Wrestlers now on the Hawks High School team.

Personally, Custer stays busy with daughter McKenna and enjoys teaching Mathematics at Viera High School.

Coach Zuniga is a Florida native who grew up in Vero Beach, FL. He competed for Vero Beach Senior High School where he was MVP and Team Captain. As a Senior, he was a state qualifier and state semi-finalist, ultimately placing 3rd in the state. He also finished 3rd in the USA Wrestling Florida State Championships in Freestyle. He was a two-time NHSCA National Qualifier and competed at the NHSCA Senior Nationals, where he was recruited by several colleges and universities.

Coach Zuniga wrestled for the University of Central Florida, where he was a National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA) national qualifier and part of the 2005 NCWA National Championship Team. In 2006, he decided to pursue other forms of competition and began practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. In 2007, he began competing in professional MMA where he compiled a professional record of 3-2. Coach Zuniga has trained with many notable UFC, PRIDE, WEC, Strikeforce, and Bellator competitors and continued to expand his wrestling knowledge training and competing with numerous NCAA Division I wrestlers.

Coach Zuniga first began coaching in high school by volunteering at his local youth wrestling club. In 2008, he became the assistant head coach at his alma mater, Vero Beach High School, where he coached multiple state place winners and in 2009, the second ever state champion in school history. In 2014, he became the head coach at VBHS where he coached multiple state qualifiers. In 2021, he entered his current role at Viera High School as head assistant wrestling coach, where he has helped coach state qualifiers, placers, and Viera’s first ever girls state champion.

Coach Zuniga is a former Firefighter/EMT and is currently employed as a full-time law enforcement officer.

Coach Curtis Doctor was a 4-year varsity wrestler at Miami Sunset Senior High School in Miami, FL, where he was the Greater Miami Athletic Conference Champion. After graduating in 2015, he attended Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia.

While attending Reinhardt University, he was a member of the Eagles wrestling team and competed at 141 lbs. and 149 lbs. in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). He earned collegiate accolades by becoming a 2x conference champion and a 3x NAIA national qualifier.

Coach Curtis Doctor Graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration with a minor in Business.

Coach Jeffrey Cotto wrestled in Florida for the Palm Bay High School Pirates. He was 3x Conference Champion and 2x State Place-Winner. He finished his senior season as the State Runner-Up and with a career record of 160-21. Coach Cotto committed to The Citadel Military College in Charleston, NC. where he competed in the NCAA (Division I). Coach Cotto competed for one season in the NCAA, prior to joining the US Army and proudly serving his country.

Coach Greg Agcaoili wrestled for Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, CA. He is a long-time coach for the Viera youth wrestling club and continues to assist the Viera Program with the youth and JV teams.

Coach Steven Hoppe is the father of Emma Hoppe, Viera's first girls state champion. Coach Hoppe assists with coaching the youth wrestling program, as well as the girls varsity and boys junior varsity teams.
